The Uniform Objects Library (UOL) is a database containing mechanical and electrical products. This database contains both specific product information, from manufacturers, as well as the necessary template objects with which CAD components can be formed, including for Autodesk Revit.
The UOL aims to share products from manufacturers with CAD users, so that CAD users can make good models. Then this information can be used again to purchase the products and the circle is complete.
However, during the design, modellers do not always know which products they can use. Modellers must therefore also be supported in designing the models.
UOL provides for offering specific products. UOL also provides collecting product data during the design phases. This is done on the basis of generic products.
The degree of specification of such a generic product is determined by the modeller himself.
All product information is organised based on the ETIM class structure. For more information see:
UOL is open in structure. UOL contains an SDK and collection of web services, which enable other applications to communicate with UOL. This also counts for the UOL App, which makes the connection between UOL and Autodesk Revit.
The UOL App has a number of applications, which are explained in the following articles.
These applications are for Modellers, who start modelling with the help of UOL.
This documentation describes the installation and use of the UOL App in combination with the Uniform Objects Library.
